Institutional Securities Group (ISG) Product Operations encompasses two functionally aligned organizations. The first, Trading & Client Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support of activity executed by Institutional Sales &Trading. The second, Clearing Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support for activity cleared by Morgan Stanley on behalf of our clients in Prime Brokerage, Listed Derivatives, and OTC Derivatives. The broad organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external. ISG Product Operations partners closely with Shared Services and Banking Operations as well as Branch Operations and Operations Risk & Control to deliver a connected 'front to back' view of operations to ISG Sales and Trading. The Fixed Income Trade Support group provides operational coverage to trading, underwriting, and the structuring of fixed income securities. An analyst in Fixed Income Operations is integral to identifying and managing Firm risk through trade capture, reconciliation, as well as documentation and settlement of client, broker, and proprietary trades. Throughout the life of a trade, a Fixed Income professional will face-off directly with sales and trading as well have regular interaction with compliance and non-market risk. Fixed Income TSG primarily supports corporate bonds, commercial paper, treasuries, asset-backed securities including mortgage-backed securities and securitized products, municipal securities, and distressed debt. Additionally, the team produces regulatory reporting for the Federal Reserve detailing the Firm?s positions, transaction, financing, and fails data of U.S. government securities and other select fixed income securities. Job Description: The Analyst role is an integral part of managing risk for the fixed income trade support group on a daily basis. This position includes: - Understanding risk implications of fixed income operations role - Ensuring all functions and procedures are performed in a timely and correct manner, i.e. trade checkout, position reconciliation, wash account reconciliation - Working with trading desk, sales, and other operations group to ensure trade processing - Cross-training with other team members - Assisting on any issues, and providing timely escalation to desk and operations management.- Bachelor's degree required - Strong communication skills, willingness to transfer knowledge is imperative - Team player, must be able to collaborate across multiple operational areas - Multi-Tasking and time management skills are critical - Ability to identify and escalate issues to senior management and to trading desk(s) - Analytical and Problem Solving Skills - Work well in a time sensitive environment - Self-starter, who is willing to ask questions Skills Desired - 1-2 years of experience within Fixed Income Operations - Fixed Income Securities Knowledge (Rates, Credit, EM) - Heavy Experience with Metric and Data Analysis - Understanding of Regulatory framework for Fixed Income Securities - Active within the industry; Understanding of key Fixed Income Organizations **Primary Location: **Americas-United States of America-Maryland-Baltimore **Work Locations: ** **Job: **Other **Organization: **Morgan Stanley **Job Posting: **May 7, 2018
