SUMMARY: The Consumer Loan Originator (CLO) is responsible for mortgage and consumer lending; to successfully take an application, process the application, and review the application with underwriting. The Consumer Loan Originator will be based within a branch and therefore will also fulfill certain branch security responsibilities around opening and closing. The CLO will be responsible for prospecting for business while marketing the Bank’s products to potential clients and referral sources as well as cold calling. Responsible for achieving and exceeding all minimum thresholds for sales goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Originates first mortgage loans and all consumer loan products, including credit cards.
Sells life and disability insurance product coverage.
Joins and actively participates in a local homebuilder or realtor association, and participates in any appropriate committees of the association.
Joins and actively participates as a member of the local chamber or business group as designated by the Bank.
Performs business calls, external calls, and business partner referrals; achieves/exceeds minimum requirements and goals as set by appropriate manager.
Performs several duties for the branch, including but not limited to such activities as answering the phone, greeting customers, and opening/closing procedures (ensuring they are part of minimum required staffing, as needed).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Bachelor degree in finance or similar business field from an accredited college or university preferred. Minimum of 3 years sales experience in a related capacity is required (internal candidates should have completed our Consumer Loan Training or be a current MLO).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
This position requires registration through the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Applicants must either (1) have an active NMLS ID that is in good standing, which is transferred to North Shore Bank's registry, or (2) must be willing to register prior to start date. Your employment with North Shore Bank is contingent upon successful registration and annual re-registration thereafter.
