    Job description

    CPS Payments Specialist: Responsible for timely and efficient processing of manual payments for all Operation Teams , other internal HSBC Operations, Product Control and Financial Teams.

    Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

    • Thorough knowledge of Swift Payments and Messaging Systems
    • Monitor, review and release all manual payments to ensure compliance with all internal control guidelines (FIM, SOX and Global Standards etc.)
    • Review and maintain updated Desk Top Procedures and Daily Check List
    • Review TREATS, GMG , GPS and Calypso at end of day to ensure all items have been processed
    • Maintain daily statistics of all items processed for the various groups we support
    • Validate Cash Management Broker Dealer Funding requirements
    • Review and research Payments Transparency error reports

    Decision-Making Responsibility:

    • Candidate needs to be able to work independently and accurately in a fast paced time sensitive environment.
    • Must be able to prioritize GMG and other wire payments to meet dead lines. I.e. Euroclear and DTC requirements.
    • Performs according to prescribed procedures.

    Management of Risk

    • Each employee must be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
    • Each employee must ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
    • Each employee must promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.

    Observation of Internal Controls

    • Each employee must maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. Any failures to comply with the above should be reflected in year end performance assessments.
    • Each employee must understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $62,000 and $92,900.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements

    Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

    • Working knowledge of Firm Wire/Swift Messaging Systems such as GMG, BONY, Chase, Euclid, Harris
    • Working knowledge of processing systems such as Treats, Impact, Calypso, Summit , OTP
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Word
    • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to ever changing business/industry requirements
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in payments and other processing experience
    • Minimum of a BA/BS degree
    • Good organizational and communication skills
