    Estate Account Specialist Summary PenFed is hiring an Estate Account Specialist in Papillion, Nebraska. The primary purpose of this job is to process all steps and paperwork necessary to close-out and transfer the deceased members accounts. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Assists phone operations, branch operations and family members of the decedent via telephone and written correspondence. Maintains confidentiality of deceased member information, only giving out information to authorized parties Disburses funds to beneficiaries and estate executors according to regulations and within established time parameters while maintaining a log of transactions. Counsels surviving joint owners/beneficiaries on PenFed products and services and ensures that they are made aware of their entitlement to continued membership. Notifies claimants and/or attorneys of the closing of accounts and disbursal of funds; obtains proper documentation, prior to disbursing funds to claimant, i.e. Letters of Administration, for account file. Opens new accounts for joint owners/beneficiaries and transfers all funds, including but not limited to, Share, Access America, Pencheck, Certificate, IRA and outstanding loan balances, ensuring that funds from IRAs are released only to the beneficiary or into the beneficiary's account. Notifies the Direct Deposit Section to return direct deposits received after date of death. Notifies survivors of return of direct deposited funds as needed. Consults with General Counsel on situations of concern which may occur. Assists with maintaining PenFeds compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and ordinances by abiding by PenFed compliance program and all policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Education and Experience Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Associates Degree in a related field is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in banking or financial services, preferably in PenFed operations, is required. Strong oral and written skills required. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications There are no additional certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Travel Limited travel to various worksites is required.
