Position Summary: Primarily responsible for activities involving quality control of documents/affidavits/pleadings and compliance with state regulations. Efficiently maintain an above average work product in our department. Track and communicate quality control results to management. * Review and inspect pleading packages at various steps of the legal process * Confirm all required attachments are attached and redacted properly based on state guidelines * Confirm all documents/affidavits/pleadings have been executed and notarized properly based on state guidelines. * Ensure accounts are properly coded and documents/affidavits/pleadings are moving through the department effectively * Use knowledge of the legal process to determine if pleadings are incorrect and assess impact. Alert management if a problem is identified which would stop production of work * Maintain knowledge of current department policies and procedures and apply as necessary in appropriate circumstances. Update department manager and team members about any recent changes * Maintain information to keep abreast of state regulations * Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility * Other duties as assigned Professional Experience/Qualifications: * High school diploma or G.E.D required * 1-2 years related litigation experience in a law firm or municipal or state court or equivalent education or training Must be a U.S. citizen * Experience in a similar role of inspecting, reviewing, analyzing documents and/or other tasks relating to quality control a plus. Internal legal clerk experience with Portfolio Recovery Associates preferred * Excellent writing and communication skills * Must possess good organizational skills with a high attention to detail Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office environment, in an individual work station, using telephone and computer.
