    CITI'S GLOBAL FUNCTIONS TECHNOLOGY (GFT) is responsible for delivering Technology solutions to Citi's Global Functions organizations. GFT's mission is to optimize Citi's Technology environment by delivering world class applications, driving standardization of the production environment, reducing complexity, optimizing management of systems supporting global functions such as Compliance, Data, Risk and Finance, and introducing innovative technologies that provide new business capabilities, reduce the technology total cost of ownership, and create a competitive advantage for Citi. Global Risk and Controls Technology (GRCT) within Global Functions Technology(GFT) supports global functions partners such as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM), Retail Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Model Risk, Internal Audit, O&T Business Risk Control and Citi Chief Administrative Office. Enterprise Risk Management covers Risk Identification, Risk Measurement, Appetite and Limits, Risk Analytics, New Activity Risk Management, Risk Framework and Policy, Enterprise Risk Management Governance. The BIG DATA PLATFORM ENGINEER position is responsible for variety of engineering activities and major initiatives under GRCT Data platform within GFT, to transform and digitize the business. As a key member of the Big Data Platform team, you will work closely with full stack data developers, engineers, DevOps team members, Production Support partners and the larger technology organization. Big Data Platform Team is responsible to get high-quality products and new features built, tested, released, and supported on time for Big Data Technology as part of GFT organization at Citi . This role is for a Big Data Platform Senior Engineer responsible to define, improve and handle latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning/forecasting along with all aspects of non-functional requirements for the Cluster. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project. RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conducts strategic data analysis, identifies insights and implications and make strategic recommendations, develops data displays that clearly communicate complex analysis
    • Consults with business clients to determine system functional specifications. Applies comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives
    • Consults with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards; recommends solutions
    • Leads system change process from requirements through implementation; provides user and operational support of application to business users
    • Formulates and defines systems scope and goals for complex projects through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of 5-6 years of professional experience in Big Data Technologies and 4-5 years additional large enterprise system administration.
    • Expertise in Cloudera Hadoop Distributed File System, YARN, ZooKeeper, Oozie
    • Experience in of Kafka, HBase, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kudu, Solor and Kerberos authentications.
    • Working knowledge of Docker / OpenShift registry.
    • Knowledge of Autosys, AppDynamics, Geneos ITRS, uDeploy, Jenkins and other tools are a plus.
    • Understanding of AWS, Snowflake, Couchbase or other distributed cloud-based technologies is also a plus.
    • Experience working in a large complex and/or global environment
    • Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
    • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
