    Ross Mortgage Company, a leading mortgage lender based in Troy, MI, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the company’s financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for accuracy. This is a mid-level accounting role with no managerial responsibilities, perfect for a professional looking to grow their career in the mortgage industry. This position will be in the office at our Corporate headquarters in Troy, MI. Responsibilities: • Record and post daily journal entries into the general ledger. • Perform bank reconciliations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. • Reconcile general ledger accounts by loan, branch, department, and employee. • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including variance analysis. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data. • Maintain and update accounting records and documentation to ensure compliance with company policies. • Support the preparation of audit schedules and assist with external audits as needed. • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and workflows. • Assist with ad hoc financial projects and reporting as assigned. Qualifications: Required Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. • 2-4 years of experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, or a similar role. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP). • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry is a plus. • Familiarity with process improvement initiatives is desirable but not required. Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000
