  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Provide leadership and oversight to a team of analysts to ensure Visa meets the highest application availability.

    • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand business problems and then design and develop required solutions.

    • Provide technical thought leadership towards solving problems for the team.

    • Drive the adoption of key engineering best practices to improve quality and reliability of team's deliverables.

    • Responsible for keeping the team engaged, motivated and operating with a high execution velocity.

    • Responsible for coaching and mentoring of direct reports.

    • Develop and nurture team of developers by motivating, mentoring, and assist in hiring critical talent.

    • Automation scripting experience with Unix Shell (bash, ksh), Python, Perl, Java, Go or Node.js.

    • Engagement with PD, Product and QA teams, developers, architects, and other stakeholders.

    • Championing & driving application, infrastructure security efforts.

    • Understand and own component security analysis, including code and data flow review. Collaborate with security team to implement and verify secure coding techniques.

    This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
    • At least 10 years of Production Application support working experience.
    • 5 years of experience with Java, J2EE1.4, HTML, XML, XSL, JavaScript, Servlet 2.4, JSP 2.0, Struts 1.2, Spring 3.0, DB2 database, and Hibernate 3.0
    • Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible & Terraform is a plus
    • Experience in Splunk, Sysdig, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana etc. is a big plus.
    • 8+ years of experience with WebSphere, TC Server, Apache Web Servers, MVC framework, IIS, and IBM-HIS web server.
    • Knowledge of at least one NoSQL DB or MySQL or DB2 or Oracle
    • A working understanding of programming/scripting languages including Bash, Perl, and Ruby/Python
    • In-depth knowledge of machine learning frameworks, like Keras or PyTorch
    • Understanding of Linux, networking, CPU, memory, and storage.
    • Knowledge of production support processes, including incident/change/problem management.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

    Additional Information

    ** Work Hours:** Varies upon the needs of the department.

    ** Travel Requirements:** This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    ** Mental/Physical Requirements:** This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,700.00 to 180,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
