Business Unit: Legal & Compliance Job Title: Legal & Compliance Risks and Controls Testing Intern Responsibilities: Blackstone Legal & Compliance is hiring an intern (law school class of 2021) to join the Risks and Controls Testing team managing challenging work in an extremely fast-paced environment. The intern would be a part of a highly collaborative legal and compliance group. The interns primary job responsibilities include: * As part of the Blackstone central compliance testing team, participate in the ongoing implementation and execution of Blackstones risk assessment and testing program, including: * updating the firm-wide risk matrix with legal citations and references; * performing consistency checks of the firm-wide risk matrix; * assessing key business processes and critical business risk and controls; and * documenting a written testing plan and compliance testing procedures * Assisting in the testing and implementation of compliance technology systems, including trade surveillance, expense allocations, investment guideline monitoring, and position monitoring as needed * Assisting in remedial projects following testing observations as needed * Ad hoc projects Qualifications: Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors as well as: * 2nd Year Law Student / expected graduation 2020 * Interest in corporate compliance/ finance * Familiarity with finance laws and regulations, particularly the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 * Superior organizational, analytical, and communication skills * Strong attention to detail and issue-spotting ability * Capable of working independently with an entrepreneurial spirit but still being a strong team player If you need a reasonable accommodation to complete your application, please contact Human Resources at 212-583-5000 (US), +44 (0)20 7451 4000 (EMEA) or +852 3656 8600 (APAC).
