    Job Description

    In collaboration with the rest of the User Research team, the moderator will help collect and compile data from studies carried out by the User Research Lab. The moderator will recruit study participants that fit target profiles, observe and interview participants during studies, manage technology for playtests, and assist with data analysis and reporting while working closely with the rest of the team.

    The role is currently hybrid, but the ideal candidate will be located in the Triangle area of North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, etc.).

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain our player database and recruit study participants to fit target profiles.
    • Manage the technical aspects of the playtests (multiplayer connections, build stability, streaming and capture functionality).
    • Act as a moderator during playtests.
    • Observe study participants and conduct interviews.
    • Help compile and enter data.
    • Work closely with the User Research team to assist in analyzing qualitative/quantitative data, and in reporting data and findings.
    • Maintain software and hardware used for playtests.
    • Carry out all other related tasks.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Basic knowledge and experience in user research (or related fields).
    • Interest in and knowledge about video games.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment during playtests.
    • Experience troubleshooting basic computer issues.
    • Solid knowledge of Word and Excel.

    Great to have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) related to Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, User Research, Human Factors or 2 - 4 years of experience or training in a related field.
    • Experience in a similar research-oriented position.
    • Experience with streaming software like OBS, Parsec, etc.
    • Video game industry experience considered a huge asset.
