    Job description

    Grow HSBC’s eFX franchise through new business origination (direct, and through distribution partners), client relationship management, and close partnership with the eRisk pricing and risk management team. Must understand eFX and eRisk concepts and tools and be able to effectively communicate the strategic plan. eFX Sales is responsible for instilling confidence in voice sales and trading, our clients, our partners, and the broader eFX marketplace, to ensure all constituents understand the value of HSBC eFX liquidity and products. We leverage our understanding of technology, FX markets, risk management, and data analysis to maximize client satisfaction, volume, and yield.

    Responsibilities:

    • Grow eFX volumes and revenues in partnership with Sales, Relationship Managers, and other distribution partners throughout HSBC.
    • Own the flow, risk, revenue and yield targets for regional client base. Maintain close relationships with clients and stay on top of these key metrics.
    • Work hand-in-hand with the eRisk pricing and risk management team to properly align pricing with client flows. This partnership is essential to managing the balance between volume and yield to maximize the opportunity with all clients.
    • Understand the costs and relative merits of distribution channels and work with clients to onboard them to mutually beneficial platforms, with a focus on proprietary channels (especially Evolve FX).
    • Market eProducts to new and existing clients including streaming liquidity via ECNs, evolveFX, execution algos, and eFX options
    • Originate new eFX business through client and partner referrals
    • Train Sales and RMs to identify opportunities and ask the right questions to qualify leads and monitor existing relationships
    • Cross-sell Platform Originations products including Prime Services, Futures, and electronic execution across asset classes. There are also opportunities to cross-sell Transactional FX and traditional Markets products.
    • Work closely with intermediary services team to build and support algo business and grow other agency style products
    • Analyze, enrich, and disseminate MI to monitor value of client flows and work to maximize volume and profitability. This includes regular updates (e.g. weekly/monthly/quarterly), both internal and with clients, to ensure performance is consistent and growing.
    • Identify, develop, and deliver custom eFX solutions to clients to win value added business
    • Capture client feedback and share it with Sales, eRisk, evolveFX product management, etc. to drive priorities for future development
    • Work closely with eClient Services to help clients with real-time day-to day issues. Depending on the nature of the problem, other team may have responsibility for resolving issues but as a team we are responsible for delivering a world class eFX service.
    • Maintain strong relationships with ECNs to generate leads, gather competitive intelligence, and ensure the right level of attention when integration work is required. At a minimum, there should be monthly meetings and performance reviews.
    • Work with relationship managers, legal, client documentation, and client services team to onboard clients and manage any issues - should not do technical onboarding work but be the client liaison with ultimate ownership of the process
    • Master the trading tools used by clients to be able to provide real-time training and advice to increase client satisfaction and ensure we capitalize on opportunities. The ability to partner with clients and co-create value builds strong, loyal relationships.
    • Identify and execute on local and global initiatives designed to move the eFX business forward. Examples include price tier reviews, new product roll-outs, and creating marketing materials.
    • Training internal and external clients on new platforms and functionality
    • Participate in client reviews held by our partners (CMB, PCM, RMs, etc.) and any other meetings where our expertise and knowledge can help grow relationships.
    • Attend conferences and other industry events and stay on top of market developments

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $125,000 and $150,000.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location

    Requirements

    • Deep understanding of eRisk concepts and tools and ability to perform the data analysis needed to generate the maximum value from client flows
    • Understanding of electronic trading platforms: candidate should be able to evaluate why and how clients use existing platforms.
    • Proven salesperson who understands electronic trading execution flow: is able to prospect, negotiate, and coordinate across teams to deliver a best-in-class solution.
    • Candidate should be able to clearly articulate client needs to quant team. Subsequently, candidate should eloquently manage client expectations working to bridge the gap between client needs and the firm’s capacity.
    • Deep knowledge of electronic executions landscape including vendor solutions and participants.
    • Exhibit responsiveness with excellent communication skills -both written and verbal.
    • Ability to manage and prioritize separate communication lines in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate new product requirements to stakeholders across the organization.
    • Ability to operate within a large organization to implement initiatives and move projects forward. Candidate will be required to work alongside peers and many others across the organization within different regions across the globe
    • Quantitative and analytic skills (must be comfortable with numbers); coding skills a plus
    • Comfortable working under pressure
    • Experience in Global Markets or Global Banking
    • Must be extremely organized self-starter with interest in technology
