    Job Description

    The Financial Analyst for News Group Operations & Technology is an integral part of the O&T finance and operations teams. The Financial Analyst will be involved in managing the day-to-day financial activities for a ~$100M+ OCF business. This includes regular financial and operational metrics reporting, planning and analysis, ad hoc strategic modeling and day to day financial processes. This critical operational finance role provides the unique opportunity to obtain an in-depth view and understanding of the Studio Operations Control Room, Studio Staging and Hair/Makeup/Wardrobe, Edit & Playback, Content Management, Engineering and Product roles. This role also dually functions to provide exposure and influence with a multitude of NBC brands including but not limited to TODAY, MSNBC, CNBC, Tonight Show, Late Night, Saturday Night Live, NBC News Now, Peacock programming along with a variety of many ad hoc productions.

    Responsibilities

    • Integrate into Operations team to track costs from operational and financial perspectives
    • Engage in the close and pacing process including preparing journal entries, client allocations and communicating risks and opportunities to FP&A team and clients
    • Aid in the preparation of all budgets and long-range plans (LRP, Budget, quarterly estimate) and related analysis for the OPEX, CAPEX, and Balance Sheet, including presentation preparation
    • Contribute to monthly / quarterly presentations for senior executives and leaders
    • Present on-going results to finance leadership
    • Perform variance, trend and KPI analysis across the O&T Portfolio
    • Involvement in preparation for monthly operating review decks and supporting documents

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Finance/Accounting
    • Minimum of 0-1 years of experience in Finance
    • Quick learner and team player
    • Critical thinking and self-starter
    • Curiosity and desire to learn the operation
    • Basic financial understanding of profit & loss statements, accounting, etc.

    Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
