Chocolate Making Intern

Interested in startups and unique artisan bean to bar craft chocolate? Join an innovative new local food startup, Undone Chocolate, as we grow in the DC food space.
We are looking for an intern to assist in production and possibly sales. This will be an opportunity for students to learn about craft chocolate production, sales and marketing. This position is open immediately and is seasonal. This is a guaranteed opportunity through Valentine’s day and depending on performance and match may extend to a more permanent position. Please note that there are a number of weekend days as part of this work.
What you will learn: • Chocolate making- this includes several tasks such as roasting, grinding, tempering, molding and wrapping. • Sales, marketing, and customer relations. • How a food startup is grown, we’re small and growing quickly. • The in’s and out’s of how kitchen incubators and innovative food startups work at Union Kitchen • How to make premium chocolate from scratch, that’s what bean to bar craft chocolate is all about!
Responsibilities:
• Making chocolate, at several steps of the process. Initial focus will be on tempering, molding and wrapping, but will expand to roasting, and of course there will be lots tasting.
• Setup and run demonstrations, farmers markets and holiday markets
• Chocolate tasting and flavor assessment

• Hard working and organized with fastidious attention to detail
• Passion for making a high quality product
• Familiar with a fast-paced work environment
• Problem solving skills and adaptability
• Strong ability to multi-task
• Kitchen or sales experience preferred
• Fine motor skills required
• Requires moving on your feet for most of the day and ability to lift up to 40 lb objects.
• A car is required for transporting sales items to and from events
