    JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION

    This job contributes to Starbucks success by moving trailers within the shipping yard, and between roasting plant and off-site facilities based on shipping schedules, order volume and other business requirements. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Coordinates with shipping, receiving and material handling partners regarding workload requirements
    • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
    • Moves trailers as needed within the yard to facilitate loading and unloading. Shuttles trailers to and from off-site facilities based on business requirements.
    • Performs general duties within functional area, including pallet consolidation, material handling, loading and unloading of trailers, and other related work.
    • Performs routine inspection of yard tractor, including safety checks and fueling, adhering to applicable regulations and procedures. Reports all maintenance and safety issues to shift lead or supervisor.

    SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

    • Distribution (1 year)
    • Material handling (1 year)
    • Over-the-road driving tractor-trailer combinations, including backing, hooking and dropping trailers and performing routine maintenance (1 year)

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Attention to detail
    • Basic math skills
    • Flexibility to work overtime as required, even on short notice
    • Safe driving record, in accordance with established Starbucks guidelines
    • Ability to follow verbal direction
    • Ability to understand written policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards
    • Familiarity with American Institute of Baking (AIB), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards
    • Organization and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards, policies and guidelines
