    OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Retail Category Product Management team is charged with imagining, creating and delivering the world’s most innovative and relevant coffeehouse products for over 28,000 Starbucks stores globally. We put customers and partners at the center of everything we do to drive business growth and brand affinity. 

     

    ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

    Starbucks internships are paid, 10-week assignments at the Starbucks Support Center in Seattle - our corporate headquarters. As a graduate intern, you will work on business-critical projects that will maximize your learning agility and equip you to make a meaningful impact. Project assignments may include Core Product, Innovation, or Portfolio Strategy. 

     

    During the STARBUCKS MBA SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM, you will:

    • CONTRIBUTE MEANINGFULLY: Influence the business by identifying new growth opportunities, developing new product ideas and strategies, analyzing business impact and performance and providing actionable recommendations to shape the future of Starbucks retail. 
    • DEVELOP PROFESSIONALLY: Sharpen your business acumen and strategic thinking skills through in-role immersions, workshops and exclusive programming 
    • FOSTER CONNECTION: Grow your network as you work collaboratively and cross-functionally with Starbucks partners and gain exposure to senior leaders

     

    Each student selected for a Starbucks internship may be considered for full-time career openings, contingent on performance and budget, upon completion of their graduate program.

    • Ability to build strong working relationships
    • Superior strategic thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
    • Previous experience in product/brand management, marketing and analytics
    • Strong storytelling skills and ability to present learnings and outcomes to leadership and cross functional teams
    • Ability to influence others without authority to get things done in a timely fashion
    • Ability to write compelling presentations and succinct emails
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to balance customer, Partner and business needs and priorities and meet deadlines
    • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
    • Superior leadership skills with ability to thrive in ambiguity
    • Overall business acumen and holistic general management approach
    • Ability to nurture and contribute to innovation and creative solutions

     

    MBA INTERNSHIP PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
    • Active enrollment in an accredited graduate program (MBA or other business-related graduate program)
    • Expected graduation date between December 2021 and June 2022
    • Consortium Fellow or participation in Consortium OP 2020 
    • Available to relocate to Seattle, Washington
