    Maximus is currently looking for a Application Review Specialist in the Baltimore MD, location. The Application Review Specialist will review and process applications and supporting documentation for broadband and telecom to determine funding commitments based on procedures and guidelines for the Universal Service Administrative Co. (USAC) - Rural Health Care Program.

    Must be able to work on-site at the Maximus Baltimore, MD location. Will work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 8am-8pm M-F

    Pay: $20/hr

    As a federal contractor, Maximus is subject to Executive Order 14042 and the Safe Workforce Task Force's COVID-19 Workplace Safety Guidance for Federal Contractors and Subcontractors.     JOB SUMMARY

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Research and resolve discrepancies with provider documents.
    • Review information keyed into the system to verify the accuracy of data.
    • Monitor data/image quality of scanned documents.
    • Follow established policies and procedures for index and imaging without deviation.
    • Maintain confidentiality and security of relevant information. Minimum Requirements:
    • High School diploma or equivalent with 0 - 2 years of experience.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

    • Conducts reviews of applications submitted by eligible healthcare providers for discounts for telecom access, internet access, internal connections, basic maintenance of internal connections, and managed internal broadband services and equipment received for eligibility and determines funding commitments based on RHC Procedures
    • Conducts additional reviews on documents reviewed by other Applicant Review Specialists to validate procedures were followed and the application is complete
    • Communicates with applicants and other stakeholders through system, email, and by telephone to obtain the required documentation required to process applications
    • Utilizes RHC Procedures, job aides, checklists and other tools and documentation to process applications according to program rules and guidelines
    • Escalates issues and questions as they arise when processing program documents
    • Upon completion of training and a 3 month probationary period of performance, employee must meet acceptable productivity and quality performance levels

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School diploma or GED required with a minimum of two years of college preferred
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, especially excel
    • Strong knowledge in IT networks, telecom, infrastructure and/or broadband communications
    • Strong analytical skills required with attention to detail
    • Works on assignments that are routine in nature; however, ability to adjust to complexities in work assignments as they arise
    • Able to read, understand & perform assignments within prescribed guidelines
    • Communicates routine information in a clear and accurate way with internal & external contacts
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
    • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently
    • Ability to type 20 WPM

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AS PER CONTRACT/CLIENT:

    • Must be able to work onsite, as work from home is not available for this contract
    • Must be a U.S. citizen
    • Must currently reside in the U.S.
    • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
