The Workforce Specialist position performs a variety of assessment, vocational counseling, case management and workforce development duties associated with the employability development of One Stop Center customers. Establish and maintain a case management relationship with customers to provide ongoing follow up and support. Manage a customer caseload of individuals who meet the requirements of WIOA Title I; accurately document performance and services provided to customers by entering all relevant services and confidential case notes into the customer's Connecting Colorado profile. As directed, will facilitate Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Info/Intake sessions to potential candidates in a group setting, as well as one/one as needed. Answer customer questions and concerns regarding WIOA eligibility and whether or not a customer is suitable for the program. Under the WIOA Rule and Regulation, take into account identified barriers and evaluate suitability for the WIOA Adult program while remaining in alignment with Federal, State, and Local policies. Meet with customers in a one/one or group setting and walk them through the process of enrollment, assessment and identification of necessary skills to promote success in the program. Facilitate an Initial, and Comprehensive Assessment, and create an Individual Employment Plan with customer input, to include with the Training Request Package. Create, maintain, and update customer Individual Employment Plans (IEP) as appropriate. Develop methods to facilitate customer employment development based upon the customer's marketable skills. Once the training is approved, provide case management for each customer on a monthly basis. Provide additional services as needed to help promote customer success. Accurately document performance and services to customers by entering all relevant services and notes into the Connecting Colorado system. Utilize current tools and resources to facilitate customer interest and continuation in work related activities and programs. Prepare individual employment plans with clients to address remediation of job-related barriers and/or deficiencies; carry out one-on-one job counseling and job coaching relative to targeted occupations and career pathways. Other relevant variables affecting customer employability. Coordinate and generate supportive services for customer as available and necessary to assist them in maintaining their classroom or on the job training. Continuous communication and collaborative activities with Business and Economic Development Representatives to set up OJT or Apprenticeship opportunities. Refer customers to in-house hiring events, job/career fairs. Provide back-up support for specific tasks, projects, and program services as needed. Utilizes proper tracking tools to ensure monthly contacts and appropriate provision of services with customers; Maintains knowledge and awareness of current policies; Colorado Department of Labor (CDLE) Program Guidance Letters (PGLs); and Training Employment Guidance Letters (TEGLs) that affect Workforce Development and provision of WIOA services; Demonstrate efficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point and data inquiries from data base such as Connecting Colorado, Job Link, and CUB Line etc.) Provide coverage to other team and/or department as needed within the resource center. May require working at other A/D Works remote locations and offsite locations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: B.A. or B.S. Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Human Services or related field Or AA, or two year certificate AND Two (2) years of experience working with economically, culturally or socially disadvantaged clients in the context of job counseling, vocational education, vocational or pre-employment assessment, Workforce Development, vocational rehabilitation or related field. Or High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND Two (2) years of specialized academic training in one of the above fields (60 academic credit hours or a combination of academic credit hours and specialized training equaling 200 classroom hours) (Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job may be sufficient).
