    Paid Intern, Strategic Partnerships About the Program The Strategic Partnerships team is seeking an Intern to support our advocacy efforts with elected city and state officials of New York. This includes conducting legislative research, providing administrative support, and assisting with outreach to elected officials and high level partners. This position will report to the Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships and work closely with both the Associate Director of Director of Strategic Partnerships. The ideal candidate must possess excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills; be an independent, motivated worker; and be passionate about criminal and social justice issues. About the Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide administrative assistance to the Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships and Director of Strategic Partnerships, including assisting with scheduling meetings with elected officials and other stakeholders, making phone calls, copying and preparing materials for meetings and maintaining contact databases Assist the Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships with special projects and research Monitor and track city and state legislation trends related to the Centers work Assist in the creation of policy profiles for city and state elected officials Assist in planning and coordination of advocacy activities that promote Center programming to further our work Participate in team check-ins, off-site project visits and attend public hearings as necessary Requirements Demonstrated interest in public policy, government, criminal and social justice Excellent organizational, analytical, presentation and writing skills Experience with event planning and/or customer service experience a plus Open to learning, team oriented, and able/willing to speak in front of groups Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed How to Apply To apply for this position, send a cover letter, resume and writing sample to shahd@courtinnovation.org , with Paid Intern, Strategic Partnerships as the subject line of the email.
