CharMeck 311 Customer Service Representative City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County 130 reviews - Charlotte, NC CharMeck 311 Customer Service Representatives are responsible for receiving and processing high volume, inbound calls from the general public requesting assistance with City/County services and/or information. Candidates are required to provide a stellar level of customer service & satisfaction with each contact, all while accurately ascertaining and documenting citizen requests in a professional manner. Candidates should be proficient in using a computer and must have the ability to learn and utilize up to 15 various software applications. Some of the software applications include Non Emergency Police System, Tax & Water, Animal Control, and Emerald. These systems enable CharMeck 311 to provide information to our customers and create service requests for City/County departments as appropriate. Must be able to read, comprehend, retain, and apply new and/or updated policies and procedures on a continuous basis. Ability to research information as requested, and/or needed. Perform other duties as assigned. CharMeck 311 operates Monday Friday, 7:00am 7:00pm and is closed on weekends and City-observed holidays. Minimum Qualifications: PLEASE NOTE: EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY ARE CRITICAL FOR SUCCESS * Requires high school diploma or equivalent. * Requires strong customer service experience with a minimum of 3 years work experience in a fast-paced customer service environment. Call center experience is preferred, but not required. * Candidates with experience in customer service account analysis highly preferred. * Strong computer savvy with the ability to utilize up to 15 applications to provide comprehensive service. * Strong work ethic with ability to handle confidential information. * Previous experience demonstrating ability to work with a sense of urgency in a changing environment. * Excellent problem-solving, organizational and oral communication skills a must, with ability to convey challenging messages to customers. * Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and function in team environment. This is a range 7 position.
