    Job Description

    This is a tremendous opportunity to learn about and participate in all the exciting special events at the airport and offsite.

    Essential Functions

    · Assist with administrative tasks such as: ****

    o Labeling folders

    o Copying files

    o Typing reports

    o Scanning documents

    o Uploading documents to a computer drive

    o Creating digital files from scanned documents

    o Shredding papers

    o Conducting inventory of special events equipment

    o Creating and maintaining a special events equipment spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel

    o Organizing, labeling, and arranging items in Events Storage Closets

    · Assist with special events and tour program tasks such as: ****

    o Lifting equipment such as a podium, sound system, media wall, microphone, microphone stands, and placing them on a pushcart and or inside a vehicle.

    o Transporting equipment to event location

    o Setting up/breaking down equipment before and after events

    o Escorting guests to destinations

    o Preparing gift bags and swag items

    o Reserving rooms for guests

    o Traveling offsite to support Airport related functions

    · Perform four or more hours per week with Guest Experience’s Volunteer Program (This could involve working with animals like dogs in PHL’s Wagging Tail Brigade and supporting the Philadelphia Zoo at PHL )

    · Assist other departments as needed

    · Video record special events

    · Edit special events videos using video editing software

    Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Skills in using MS Office software programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Skills in operating audio-visual equipment.
    • Skills in utilizing office equipment such as copiers and scanners.
    • Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions.
    • Ability to use a computer and keyboard to perform data entry and retrieval.
    • Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
    • Ability to read and interpret manufacturers’ manuals and procedures related to special events equipment.
    • Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks.
    • Ability to fulfill physical requirements of the position which include some strenuous activity including, but not limited to, walking long distances, moderate to heavy lifting, and pushing carts.
    • Ability to learn how to set-up equipment for special events.
    • Ability to work hours and workdays outside of traditional work schedule.

    Work-Life

    Full-time (Temporary) ; Monday-Friday 8 AM to 4 PM, **** contingent **** on student’s class schedule.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • College Student.
    • Latest transcript required.
    • Must pass and maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) clearance.
    • *Must pass and maintain AOA (Airfield Operations Area) clearance for Operation positions.
    • Applicants aged 18 years and older must complete a medical assessment, including a drug test.
