    Job Description

    The Grant Writer role will play a critical part in supporting the agency's mission to improve public health outcomes by ensuring the availability of necessary financial resources. This position will collaborate with various internal stakeholders to develop grant proposals and manage grant applications. This position requires excellent organizational skills and strong writing ability.

    Essential Functions

    • Conduct research to identify potential grant funding opportunities relevant to public health programs and initiatives.
    • Stay updated on grant trends, policies, and regulations to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
    • Evaluate the alignment between grant opportunities and the agency's strategic priorities.
    • Work closely with program managers and subject matter experts to gather information and develop grant proposals that support the agency’s mission and goals.
    • Prepare compelling, accurate, and concise grant narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
    • Ensure proposals meet all the specified requirements, including formatting, timelines, and submission guidelines.
    • Coordinate the grant application process from start to finish, including organizing internal review processes and deadlines.
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather data, statistics, and other information required for grant applications.
    • Maintain accurate records of grant applications, tracking progress, and reporting requirements.

    Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in a government or public health setting.
    • Strong knowledge of public health issues, programs, and funding sources.
    • Excellent research, analytical, and project management skills.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
    • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to details.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with grant regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements.
    • Creativity.
    • Strategic Thinking.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Work-Life

    Work hours are 37.5 hours per week; schedule is currently hybrid with 2 days on-site (in-office) and 3 days remote (off-site); however, the position can opt to come in the office each day if desired/necessary.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in public health, health administration, or a related field or 2 years of grant writing or grant reviewing experience.
