  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Co-ops will perform tests and inspections of construction materials of public works projects being built by the Water Department to assure that work performed by contractors and manufacturers complies with contracts, plans, and specifications and meet current standards for work quality.

    Engineering Coop positions provide on-site field inspection duties under the direction of a Construction Engineering supervisor. These duties include field documentation of capital program projects, measurements, calculations and testing of installed and proposed products and structures in Water, sewer, green infrastructure, water production, and sewage treatment within the Philadelphia Water Department.

    Essential Functions

    Some experience using spreadsheets and word processing in a Windows environment is desirable.

    Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Applicants are required to meet the following minimum requirements:

    - Must be enrolled as a full-time student

    - Valid driver’s license preferred, though a personal vehicle is not required.
