  • Responsibilities

    This is a key role within our MARS Platform team to deliver latest platform and infrastructure services to ConnectionPoint and MAXe clients. The ideal candidate will have strong, hands on technical knowledge, along with great listening skills and be able to visualize the big picture from clients' as well as the team’s perspective.

    Utilize your technical knowledge and background working on projects from inception to delivery. The ideal candidate will have some prior experience working in a team environment or potentially in a lead role exploring and creating automated, secure, and robust cloud infrastructure solutions.

    You’re happy and excited to get involved in various levels of technical discussions, from architecture to hands on coding and learn something new every day. A good foundation in infrastructure technology preferably on AWS cloud is highly advantageous, as is a programming background. You will work within the MARS Platform team who is responsible for building highly resilient, scalable, reusable and performant platform and underlying infrastructure in an automated and efficient manner to support the ConnectionPoint and MAXe applications.

    Additionally, the selected intern will gain knowledge of general business principles, corporate organizational structure and government process improvement. Throughout the summer, you will have the opportunity to meet, interact, and collaborate among various project teams, consultants, senior management, executives and peers. Guidance and training on operations standards and protocols will be provided by the Manager.

    BENEFITS / COMPENSATION:

    Hourly pay range is competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Interns are eligible for benefits. All computer equipment and access to digital systems will be provided to the hired candidate. Students may also complete the internship for academic credit, subject to the qualifications of their academic program.

    PROGRAM DETAILS:

    This position requires a commitment of 40 full-time hours per week, with availability during usual business hours (8AM-6PM ET), for the duration of a 10-week summer program: starting Tuesday, May 27th and ending Friday, August 8th, 2025

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work on IT assignments of moderate difficulty, under the direction of a more senior mentor, to build a well-rounded skillset
    • Escalate issues and questions to management as necessary
    • Participate in group discussions with peers or external groups to solution problems of moderate scope
    • Participate in meetings to gain process knowledge and guidance on assigned projects
    • Read, understand and perform assignments within prescribed guidelines
    • Approach challenges and create solutions with a critical thinking and customer service mindset
    • Prepare standard reports and presentation materials.
    • Inquisitiveness and curiosity are most important.
    • Ability to see big picture while troubleshooting an issue or designing a solution.
    • Knack to think about indirect impacts along with direct impact of any action to be performed.
    • Must be willing to work in pair programming setup.

    You will be working on the end-to-end platform and will get exposure to multiple platform and cloud technologies during the internship. You will also get a chance to work on real-life tasks to manage AWS based cloud platform and DevSecOps pipelines. Video on during the collaboration calls.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a college degree in a related major including systems, technical, engineering, analytics, or similar field.
    • Must have completed 2 years of coursework.
    • Good organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.- Limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts.

    This opportunity is reserved for rising Senior and graduate level students. The work may be performed remotely within the US only and from any time zone.

    The following skills and qualifications are pluses:

    • Some understanding of AWS IaaS and typical Architecture practices and working knowledge on AWS CLI
    • Exposure to AWS networking and security capabilities with at least some troubleshooting knowledge.
    • Some exposure to either developing or supporting software development projects utilizing AWS technologies.
    • Strong scripting skills preferably in Python, Perl, Unix shell scripting
    • Some Knowledge of SSL certificates management
    • Working knowledge some or all of AWS EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, EKS, Route53, SSM, Lambda, Auto-scaling and CodeCommit services
    • Basic skills with any one of the IAC (Infrastructure As Code) tools, preferably Terraform
    • Understanding of container technology (Kubernetes/Docker/TAS)
    • Exposure to Agile development methodologies and processes, and tools in support of DevOps practice
