    Job Description

    Position Summary

    The Place Based Initiatives division of CEO utilizes NGP VAN and other software to connect with Philadelphia residents out in their own communities. Our outreach focuses on issues like water shutoff prevention, providing lifesaving medicine to communities at the forefront of the opioid crisis, and providing access to resources in parts of the city that need it most. This data coordinator position will be instrumental in creating systems for this work, making the systems actionable, and improving them for future outreach initiatives.

    The Place-Based Initiatives Data Coordinator will be responsible for guiding the data collection and supporting the analysis and evaluation for the Place-Based Initiatives division at CEO, which includes the Community Engagement, Neighborhood Initiatives, and Community Resource Teams. Key duties include creating and maintaining data practices for all parts of the work of these teams, ensuring full implementation of those data practices, which may require training staff and external partners, and designing process improvements to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency in the lines of work as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to drafting, editing, and reviewing outreach scripts; transferring scripts and creating walk packets and phone banks in NGP VAN; creating and maintaining digital forms; and providing technical support to outreach staff and external partners. This position will also develop reports tracking data related to community engagement. This position will report to the Organizational Impact Director.

    This position is full-time and may require occasional work after hours and on weekends to support Program activities.

    This position is part of the broader Policy & Programs Vertical, working in tandem with the Research and Evaluation Team, and is responsible for identifying best practices and collaborating across CEO at-large.

    Essential Functions

    • Draft, edit, and review outreach scripts based on feedback from partner agencies, community-based organizations, and CEO staff.
    • Draft, edit, review and track data collection and reporting processes and evaluation plans.
    • Utilize GIS/ARCGIS and/or other map-based programs to build maps to analyze spatial data with partners.
    • Transfer finalized scripts into NGP VAN and create printable walk packets, phone banks, or text banks.
    • Manage daily technical, back-end support including addressing issues experienced by users.
    • Verify, maintain, and report on detailed records in NGP VAN and other data platforms.
    • Create and maintain digital forms for events, outreach, or resources.
    • Communicate weekly updates related to outreach efforts to engagement staff and leadership as required.
    • Lead group and one-on-one training workshops to introduce data management skills or digital platforms.
    • Additional related responsibilities as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to serve diverse audiences, including community-based organizations, elected officials’ staff, faith communities, students, volunteers and the general public.
    • Prior experience community organizing, electoral campaigns, or case management is highly preferred.
    • Proficient in NGP VAN and Microsoft Office 365, required.
    • Competence in quantitative analysis skills such as calculating summary statistics, database management, and geospatial mapping are required.
    • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.

    Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000
