Controlled Substance/Vault Clinical Pharmacist - Washington Dc, DC - Overview Summary This position is located within the Pharmacy Department at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. The Controlled Substance/Vault Clinical Pharmacist is primarily responsible for assuring, securing, and accurately accountable for the distribution of DEA Schedule II through Schedule V controlled substances to a variety of patient care and nursing areas throughout the Medical Center. This involves all aspects of controlled substance distribution, determining stock requirements, and maintaining and reviewing required reports. The incumbent will provide optimal pharmaceutical care and timely customer service in accordance with the mission, vision and goals of the Medical Center. Failure to become licensed within 2 years from date of appointment will result in removal from the GS-0660 Pharmacist series and may result in termination of employment. d. Grandfathering Provision. All licensed pharmacists employed in VHA in this occupation on the effective date of this qualification standard are considered to have met all qualification requirements for the title, series and grade held, including positive education and licensure/certification/registration that are part of the basic requirements of the occupation.
