    Teller (Agent Cashier) - Manchester, NH - Overview Summary The incumbent serves as the Teller (Agent Cashier) for the Fiscal Service Line, disbursing numerous cash transactions on a daily basis. These transactions include beneficiary travel, patient funds, accommodation exchange, and various imprest (petty cash) fund payments. Work Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Position Description/PD#: Teller (Agent Cashier)/8090A Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Duties Incumbent follows procedures and instructions in the Department of Treasury Financial Manual, as well as specific guidelines in agency handbooks and directives. The incumbent adheres to co-payments, check procedures and local depository requirements. Interprets, determines, and applies guidelines accurately. Reconciles cash advances from the Treasury Department daily and assures that adequate cash in on hand at all times. Deposits Accommodation Exchange Checks and maintains checkbooks for the cashier advance. Maintains files and records related to teller/cashier activities. The incumbent replenishes paid vouchers daily and submits to accounting office in a timely manner. Advances funds to alternates and ensures that they have sufficient funds to maintain operations during brief absence of cashier. The incumbent enters payments into system and provide patients with receipts. He/she post collections to the appropriate field service receipts in system. You may qualify at the GS 6 level based on your experience described below: - Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-05) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience: experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. There is no education substitution at the GS 6 level. Applicants for both grade levels must possess training and experience that clearly demonstrate they possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities: 1. Knowledge of accounting, budgets, appropriations and other financial management regulations, policies, procedures and practices as it relates to teller/cashier functions. 2. Knowledge of Department of Treasury, banking and cashiering regulations, policies and rules. 3. Ability to accurately input data and handle financial and cash transactions. 4. Ability to utilize automated accounting, budget and accounts receivable systems, as well as other applications and office equipment.
