Provides on-site quality assessment, coaching, and professional development instruction to early childhood educators as part of the Virginia Infant & Toddler Specialist Network*. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Child Care Administrator I. *The Virginia Infant & Toddler Specialist Network is a state-wide program of Child Development Resources and is supported by the Virginia Department of Social Services Grant #93.575, with funds made available to Virginia from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Note: The salary offer for this position for external candidates will not exceed the mid-point of the advertised salary range. Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work, or a closely related field; plus two years of experience in day care administration, early childhood education, or related human service administration. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate degree (master or doctorate level) in early childhood education. At least two years of experience working with infants and toddlers (birth through 36 months). Two or more years of experience providing professional development instruction of early childhood educators. Fluent in English and Spanish, both oral and written. CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: Valid driver's license. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The appointee to the position must complete a criminal background check, Child Protective Services Registry check, and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to independently operate a vehicle and travel throughout the region and statewide as needed.
