The Pathways Internship Program offers individuals who are current students with an opportunity to work and explore new careers. If selected to participate in an internship, you will be placed in a Student Trainee (IT Specialist) position as a GS-2299-5/7/9. The full performance level of the trainee position is a GS-2299-9. Upon successful completion of your education and all program requirements you may be non-competitively converted to permanent or term appointment in the competitive service as an IT Specialist position at the GS-2210, 5/7/9/11/12 in the Information Technology Division. Conversion is not guaranteed or implied. In order to successfully complete the Pathways Internship Program, you must complete a minimum of 640 hours of work experience acquired through the program and successfully complete your course of academic study. Responsibilities The following are the duties of a Student Trainee Information Technology Specialist at the GS-9. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to you grow in this position. In this position, you will perform assigned aspects of routine, non-routine, and recurring assignments.
