City of Chicago, 1st Ward Office, Alderman Proco Joe Moreno - Chicago, IL

Aldermen are the city's legislators, elected to four-year terms in each of Chicago's 50 wards. Our 1st Ward Office is often the main point of contact for residents concerned about neighborhood issues like affordable housing, education, safety, sustainability, garbage pickup, street repairs, parking, TIF (Tax Increment Financing), and SSAs (Special Service Areas).

Our intern will deal with all of these issues and direct them to the appropriate staffer when necessary. We are a hard working and friendly office. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and dedication to our 1st Ward residents.

• Interns at our office require a Junior or Senior enrollment at a college or university in a major related to providing all types of city services.
• Must have a 3.0 or higher G.P.A.
• Applicable majors include, but are not limited to, Social Work, Political Science, Criminology, Cultural Studies, Justice Studies, Government Affairs, Business Communications, American Studies, Communication Studies, Public Policy, and Sociology.
• We encourage students to apply who are obtaining other degrees as well.
