    Passenger Service Assistant Metropolitan Airports Commission 7 reviews - Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN $18.90 an hour The Passenger Service Assistant provides exceptional customer service to the traveling public by answering questions, directing passengers and customers to the area of the airport they are seeking and directing passengers to available ground transportation options. The Passenger Service Assistant is required to become knowledgeable of commercial vehicle operations and basic airport operations. Performs other duties as assigned. Work hours are 4:00 pm - 2:30 am, 7 days a week, with rotating days off. The days and hours of this position may include working weekends and holidays. Mandatory overtime is occasionally required. Work assignments rotate between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Uniforms are provided.     • Displays professional, pleasant, and enthusiastic behavior when interacting with customers. * Responds to routine questions from the public, tenants, and MAC employees. * Directs passengers to the appropriate ground transportation, (i.e. shuttle, shared-ride, public transportation, bus, taxi, limousine, etc.). * Assists customers with ground transportation information and/or baggage information. * Produces and records security access authorization forms. * Receives, routes, and/or directs telephone calls and responds to inquiries from terminal courtesy telephones. * Uses the "language interpreter" phones when language barriers exist. * Uses hearing impaired video phones. * Responds to customer complaints by resolving the issue or directing the customer to the appropriate department or organization. * Documents customer complaints through incident reports. Commercial Vehicle/Taxi * Directs passengers to available taxis; occasionally assisting with luggage. * Monitors taxi lines and interacts with taxi drivers to ensure a positive customer experience. * Distributes Taxi Information Brochures. * Monitors TNC traffic on Upper East Roadway. * Records and prepares written taxi incident reports. * Adheres to and enforces department policies and ordinances relating to commercial vehicle operations at MSP. * Maintains working knowledge of MAC Automated Vehicle Identification Software (MAVIS). Roadways * Maintains current knowledge of the terminal campus and commercial vehicle roadway system.
    • Monitors commercial vehicle roadways; responds to safety concerns and reports needed repairs. Position Requirements: Core Competency Requirements * Complete work assignments in an accurate and neat manner.

Minimum Requirements * High school diploma or GED * One year of customer service experience and the ability to respond to customers in a professional manner * Excellent written and verbal communication skills; articulates information in a concise and timely manner * Clearly speaks and understands English * Willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions * Basic skill level using Microsoft Word and Outlook
