Fall 2018 Investigative Intern NYC Department of Investigation - New
York, NY Part-time, Internship The New York City Department of
Investigation, DOI, is looking for highly motivated
undergraduate/graduate students with a strong interest in combating
municipal corruption for its Internship Program. The ideal DOI Intern
candidate must be a good communicator with strong writing and problem
solving skills. The Candidate must also have the ability to interact and
work well with others. DOIs Internship Program provides students who are
interested in fighting corruption, with an exciting hands-on
investigative experience. Interns assist investigators with cases that
may involve elected officials, City employees or companies that do
business with the City. DOI Interns are also tasked with obtaining and
reviewing evidence, participating in interviews, and conducting
financial reviews and audits. Therefore, DOI Interns must maintain
strict confidentiality and successfully pass their Intern Background
Investigation. Preferred Skills: * Outstanding academic record 3.0 or
above GPA preferred * The ability to divide time between work and study
- Demonstrated interest in public corruption investigations and
prosecution * Conversational knowledge of NYC Charter Chapter 34 and
Mayoral Executive Order #16, (1978 Koch Administration) and its
succeeding amendments. * The ability to handle confidential information
with a high level of discretion, sensitivity and professionalism. *
Demonstrated ability to write succinct and organized reports * Strong
Organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to manage time
efficiently, meet deadlines, multi-task and manage competing priorities
