** POSITION DESCRIPTION:**
Under the Streets Operations Section, the Paint Shop Manager is responsible for both the business systems and daily implementation of all Paint Shop traffic activities consisting of over 50 staff members. This manager assesses and allocates available resources and determines resource needs, delegates activities and responsibilities to Paint Shop supervisors, oversees the deployment of Paint Shop staff, and ensures that the Paint Shop is functioning effectively. This position develops policies and/or procedures affecting provision and delivery of traffic paint services and interacts with other Operations and Traffic Engineering managers and staff to solve problems. This position handles confidential and sensitive information and mediates conflicts that require interpretation and application of the unit’s, division’s, city departments’, and/or city’s policy.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university;
AND
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in the design, construction, installation, maintenance or repair of public infrastructure. Three (3) years of the above experience must include supervising staff;
AND
Licenses:
Possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver License.
Education Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the baccalaureate degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. One year (2,000 hours) of qualifying experience will be considered equivalent to 30 semester units/45 quarter units.
