    Job Description

    Job Summary

    Under general direction, is responsible for performing comprehensive oral health services for eligible recipients of the Health Department's oral health program; provides for the safety and welfare of patients during the delivery of dental services; and provides oral health education for clinic patients and the community. Working conditions are primarily in a medical environment. May be exposed to infectious diseases. Must be willing to comply with all OSHA regulations and current immunization policies. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.

    This position is a "temporary grant funded" position, therefore it is unclassified and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Graduation with a D.D.S. or a D.M.D. degree from a college or university accredited by the American Association of Dental Education.
    • No substitution for education allowed.
    • License to practice dentistry in the State of Texas.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Fluent in Spanish
