Duties

As a Quality Assurance Specialist you will:

• Perform critical duties required to ensure that the OD maintains a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) and that QMS requirements are adhered to by OADLSS staff and contract partners.
• Establish clearly defined quality assurance processes, procedures, and documentation.
• Ensure that all documents are controlled by managing a document control program.
• Manage the review and approval of all procedures, guidance documents, manuals, and policies.
• Serve as a Quality Assurance subject matter expert and maintains technical expertise in subject areas related t compliance with ISO 9001 standards.

Due to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) process enhancement to use Shared Certificates throughout the Agency, some of the requirements below may differ:

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing oversight and coordination of CDC's laboratory policies and operations, specifically those related to laboratory safety and quality at all CDC campuses.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
