    Maximus is currently hiring for RN Quality Assurance Specialists to support the New York Independent Assessor Program (NYIA)! This position is fully remote and located in the state of New York.

    About the New York Independent Assessor Program (NYIA):

    The NYIA Program serves the State of New York by conducting a UAS assessment to determine eligibility for community-based long-term services. The Quality Assurance Specialist will bring robust qualifications and a strong desire to contribute their knowledge and expertise to a meaningful program. Specialists are on the front line of ensuring consistent and accurate assessment results by reviewing assessments and communicating with Nurse Assessors.

    About the Position

    We are hiring for Quality Assurance Nurse Specialists! As a member of the NYIA QA team, you'll bring robust qualifications and a strong desire to contribute your knowledge and expertise to a meaningful program. The Department is composed of small teams of QA Nurse Specialists, each led by a supportive Supervisor. Specialists are on the front line of ensuring consistent and accurate assessment results by reviewing assessments and communicating with Nurse Assessors.     Education and Experience Requirements

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Conduct standardized review/audit of Community Health Assessments (CHA) that are conducted by the Nurse Assessors.
    • Review findings/audit and provide feedback in a collaborative manner to promote quality improvement of the CHA process
    • Collect data related to assessments and assessment outcomes
    • Examine cases at random for completeness, accuracy and consistency
    • Examines data for outliers and researches such cases
    • Conducting ad hoc reviews of submissions by Health Plans and the Local Department of Social Services that are clinical in nature
    • Analyze UAS recommended scores in relation to Nurse Assessor determinations
    • Attend Fair Hearing cases and prepare case packets, as required. This may require travel if the Fair Hearings are resumed in person
    • Meets all standards established for this position as outlined in the corresponding annual performance criteria and bonus template for this position
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Active RN license in the state of New York
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
    • Must have or be able to obtain a New York State ID card
    • 2+ years RN experience in-home care, medical, surgical, geriatric, LTC and/or ambulatory care
    • Prior experience using the UAS-NY Community assessment tool, OASIS or MDS preferred
    • Strong technological skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Detail and solution oriented
    • Ability to work independently
    • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to use spreadsheet or database software
    • Preferred 2+ years previous work experience in Quality and Risk Management in a hospital setting conducting peer reviews

    Home Office Requirements:

    • Reliable high-speed internet service

    Pay Transparency

    Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus’s total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation shall be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation.
