Successful candidate should have the ability to identify, explain and apply applicable statutes and regulations; analyze and prepare clear and detailed reports of findings; ability to independently establish and complete daily work schedules; and to communicate and work effectively with licensed practitioners, consumers and the general public. This is a full-time benefit eligible position. The successful candidate will work from their home which should be located in the St. Louis area. Starting Salary: $30,084 Position Details This position is responsible for scheduling and conducting initial, annual, renewal and follow-up inspections of assigned cosmetology and barber establishments to assure conformity with applicable state laws, rules and regulations; verifying licensure of facilities and staff ; inspecting and reviewing business documentation as it relates to licensure requirements; and inspecting facilities for layout, adequacy of floor space, proper condition of equipment and appropriate sanitation conditions. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing detailed reports of inspection, testifying at administrative or judicial proceedings regarding inspection procedures and findings; and receiving and referring inquiries from licensees, students, consumers, public officials and the general public to appropriate board personnel. This position is expected to plan and schedule work activities to achieve established goals and is required to travel up to 95% of the time with minimum overnight travel. Qualifications Two years of experience as a Professional Registration Processing Technician II. - OR - Two years of experience as a licensed professional in an industry regulated by the Division of Professional Registration. - OR - Three years of professional or technical experience in business administration, licensing, law enforcement of closely related areas and a possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
