Open Competitive Minimum Qualifications for Toll Electronic Systems Technician Trainee 1 are:1. one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of complex* electrical/electronic equipment such as computer hardware or similar equipment involving work with electro-mechanical/electronic control circuits; AND,Trainees must have completed one of the following:1. a high school technical electricity/electronics education program or a BOCES program recognized by the NYS Education Department. Or,2. at least 30 college semester credit hours including a minimum of 15 college semester credit hours in electrical engineering, electronic engineering or electrical technology. Or,3. military training/rating in an electronics field including completion of an electronics rating school program.* Complex electrical/electronic equipment contains solid state electronic circuitry, printed circuit boards, switches, and relays. Experience as a telephone, cable TV, or power company line person/laborer WILL NOT qualify for this traineeship. ## Duties DescriptionUnder the general supervision of a Toll Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for the maintenance and repair of complex electrical/electronic equipment such as computer hardware, or similar equipment involving work with electrical/electronic control circuits. Work is generally related to the Thruway's computerized Toll System or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), but can include other computer, network, or electronic cabling and equipment. Technicians may be required to maintain, repair, overhaul, install, test, adjust, or modify assigned equipment. Subject to call on a 24-hour basis ## Additional CommentsThere is location pay differential of $1.51 per hour with this position.
