Mayor's Office Internship Program - Spring 2019 Location City County Building, IN Job Type Internship Department Office of the Mayor Job Number 04611 Closing 11/9/2018 11:59 PM Eastern Position Summary The Mayor's Office Internship Program is an opportunity for undergraduates (who would have completed their first year by the start of the program) and graduate level students to learn about and contribute to city government. Position Responsibilities During the program, Mayor's Interns are assigned substantive projects providing research, administrative, and staff assistance to City officials in various departments across the City of Indianapolis. Interns are given an opportunity to learn about careers in local government, hear from leadership, and experience the day-to-day. Interns will be given real work experience while being exposed to the diverse functions and operations. Interns are assigned to a department director for the duration of the internship but may work on various tasks throughout the duration of the program. These tasks include: general office assignments, program planning, research and analysis, data compilation and entry, constituent services, field work, communications and correspondence.
