Plumber Job ID: 31971 Department: Human Resources Location: Various NY/NJ Facilities Responsibilities The Plumber is a journey-level job title and performs diverse, highly skilled work in the installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of a wide variety of plumbing systems and equipment, such as: * Low and high pressure water systems * Sewer lines * Drainage systems * Gas lines * Pumps sewer ejectors * Valves * Tanks * Flushometers The Plumber also will repair, clean, adjust and/or perform preventative plumbing maintenance on equipment, tools, machinery etc. Plumbers must have knowledge of: * Plumbing codes and regulations * Reading blueprints * The ability to troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing problems The Port Authority operates 24 hours, 7-days a week. Plumbers work a 40-hour week, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, overtime as needed and responding to emergencies during off hours. Plumbers are assigned to work at our various facilities throughout the NY/NJ area. Qualifications Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position: * High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution * Three years of paid work experience in the plumbing field * Valid Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Class B CDL Permit with Air Brakes endorsement or higher before your first day of work.
