    Major Duties

    • Plans, directs, and supervises all activities of unit, primarily involved in receiving, handling, storing, maintaining while in storage, issuing, and physically controlling materials within a storage and distribution system.
    • Plans, establishes, and manages the most efficient and economical operations in accomplishing assigned functions.
    • Directs a program segment that performs technical, and administrative work and Federal Wage System employees in semiskilled trades and labor occupations.
    • Serves as a Chief of a Strategic Distribution Platform and will be responsible for one of the following operations: Shipping, Warehousing, Receiving, Consolidation and Containerization Process or Special Functions.
    • Responsible for one of the following: Shipping, Warehousing, Receiving, Consolidation and Containerization Process or Special Functions.
    • Participates In surveys and studies to ensure optimum position structure and proper classification of positions.
    • Directs subordinate supervisors to ensure consistency of product, service, Interpretation of guidance, and advice provided to others.

    Qualification Summary

    To qualify for a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Plans for and adjusts work operations of a sizable workforce to accommodate changes to or increases in mission operations. Establishes long-range plans and schedules, sets priorities, and resolves resource inhibitors for subordinate supervisors. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
