Interior Design Assistant Rena Sarant Interiors - New York, NY Full-time, Part-time, Internship We are seeking a part-time candidate with a passion for interior design to join our practice. This is an opportunity to join a small company that is working on creative projects, rapidly growing and looking to expand. This position could quickly lead to full-time opportunity. In most cases, our projects consist of full service boutique renovations from start to finish. Working predominantly in high-end residential, the ideal candidate will take on a supportive role by collaborating with the owner and lead designer of the company to assist in the delivery of all phases of our projects from conceptual ideas through to implementation. The chosen candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, a great communicator and have a desire to grow with the company. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong balance between design sensitivity and technical knowledge, together with the project organization skills that are necessary to operate in a fast-paced environment. Tasks would include assist with general administrative needs, contribute research, updating and creating AutoCAD drawings/details, preparing for client presentations, selecting finishes and furnishings, attending site visit meetings with owners and contractors, requesting quotes, making client purchases, processing & tracking orders, and organize & maintain fabric library. JOB REQUIREMENTS Requirements Include the following: * Associates or Bachelors degree in Interior Design or similar * At least 2-year post qualification experience in residential design * Strong AUTOCAD, Photoshop and Microsoft Office proficiency * Experience in FF&E procurement & software desirable * Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail * Excellent multi-tasking ability, organizational skills and great attention to detail * Exceptional communication skills and customer service * A good attitude and sense of humor is a must! ABOUT OUR COMPANY Current projects include a new construction modern surgeon's office on the Upper East Side of New York, decoration of a townhouse in Brooklyn Heights, renovation of a single family home in Saratoga Springs, decoration of a home in Palm Beach as well as decorating maintenance of a compound in Greenwich, Connecticut.
