    PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE: Champion our brand purpose & values

The Director, Social Impact, will help drive our purpose across everything we do. As leaders in luxury beauty, La Mer is committed to nurturing and maintaining a global culture of inclusion, diversity, representation, and development to make a collective impact on the beauty industry on every level.

    This position is responsible for connecting La Mer to key stakeholders in the social impact sector and translating this work to our consumers. This person should have marketing or communications experience, with a passion for working with nonprofit organizations to implement work for social impact initiatives. The position will work closely with the cross-functional team including Global Marketing, Online, Education, Regional Affiliates, Creative, Finance, Corporate Marketing, and external organizations. In addition to driving social impact, the Director will work with the organization to drive sustainability innovation to make a positive impact to communities, and stakeholders throughout our value chain.

    KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

    1) La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund:

    Lead: Own the La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund; lead Ocean Conservation initiatives for the brand.

    Strategy: Define the overall strategy and roadmap to activate the brand's mission and commitments internally and externally. ****

    Consumer and Employee Engagement: Lead the expansion of employee engagement in the La Mer Blue Heart mission globally

    Fund management: Work with the ELC (Estée Lauder Companies) Corporate Citizenship and Sustainability team to develop and execute the Fund’s grant-making strategy and build and maintain high-touch relationships with non-governmental organizations. Provides strategic recommendations for new and emerging partnerships.

    2) Sustainability & Transparency:

    Task force lead: Lead the cross-function task force to help each team define goals and track progress over time.

    Strategy: Lead the 360 Consumer Engagement strategy to communicate the brand’s Sustainability and Transparency initiative, define contents pillars for communication with channel leads, align the strategy internally and to senior leadership, both within the brand and at the corporate level, as well as to regional partners, partner and liaise with external agencies.

    Execution: Brief Creative to develop relevant contents, ensure excellence in execution in relevant touch points and regions. Work with the Global Comms team to communicate the commitments internally and externally.

    3) Inclusion Diversity and Equity:

    Help set the measurable goals and road map to achieving our vision within the organization. In collaboration with HR, help the brand continue to develop inclusive skill sets and tools, and make ID&E (Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity) change a part of our daily work. ****

    Help facilitate action plans from the La Mer ID&E council, with focus on external communications and development.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Marketing and Communications Profile, a generalist with NGO experience and passion for these critical initiatives for the brand

    · Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

    · Five to ten years' relevant experience.

    · Exposure to wide range of brand operations and functions.

    The anticipated base salary range for this position is $117,000 to $202,100. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based ongeographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performanceand company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
