What You’ll Do
The role of the Senior Product Manager, Search & Merchandising is to be the primary subject matter expert of the onsite search and merchandising experiences, driving insights, defining and executing a product roadmap centered around the customer and our e-commerce platform business users. They must deeply understand our users, their problems, where they find value, and consistently strive to improve the overall customer experience from start to finish. - Grow a deep knowledge of our customers and how they engage with our products, always looking for new ways to create value on their behalf
- Develop product roadmap for search and merchandising features based on business value and ROI analysis and provide regular communication and updates to regional partners, global and regional brands and other business stakeholders
- Foster an outward facing view of the e-commerce beauty retail industry to identify how to accelerate business outcomes in the market
- Utilize enterprise search technologies (e.g., Algolia, Fredhopper, Factfinder) to enhance search accuracy and user satisfaction
- Collaborate closely with engineering and data science teams to implement and iterate on search algorithms and features that improve relevance and speed
- Drive “test & learn” activities through onsite experimentation, user testing and analysis
- Identify opportunities and deliver iterative business value based on insights
- Develop comprehensive and detailed Product Requirements Documents in collaboration with UX and Engineering clearly defining the expectations and prioritized scope of the capability
- Draft clear and detailed epics to support implementation cycles
- Collaborate closely and build strong partnerships with UX, Engineering, Analytics & Insights, Product Marketing, Regional product teams, Brand Experience teams and other business stakeholders
- Gain a solid knowledge of Estee Lauder Company's business and the intricacies of the Digital Experience and Brand Organizations
- Active interest and effort to learn new technology, techniques and processes
- Develop and drive product area OKRs (“Objective Key Results”) in partnership with the business, regularly measuring progress and pivoting as necessary
- Drive product adoption of internal business tools globally with Brand Experience teams, in partnership with Product Marketing Analyze user data and conduct A/B testing to optimize search performance and user engagement metrics
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in search technology to drive continuous improvement and innovation
Qualifications
Who You Are
You have…
- 4 years of experience in the e-commerce, product management space. Platform/portfolio level experience is a plus.
- Strong project management skills and able to partner/collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional team members
- E-commerce retail domain experience; understand competitive differences, trends and best practices, including understanding of eCommerce products, platforms and technologies
- Deep understanding of search technologies and methodologies, including indexing, ranking, and relevance algorithms
- Knowledge of SEO principles and their application to on-site search optimization
- Experience with Search Enterprise Platforms, Content Management Systems(CMS) and Data Management platforms and Analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Full Story and Looker). Proficient in Jira, Confluence and Figma.
- Experience with enterprise search platforms (e.g., Algolia, Solr, Elasticsearch, Endeca, Searchspring or other tools) and familiarity with search analytics tools
- Familiarity with data-driven decision-making and user-centered design principles
- Experience with international e-commerce platforms and understanding of multilingual search challenges is a plus
- Experience with contributing or driving large-scale digital transformations for the organization
- Experience with wide-ranging stakeholder management in a highly matrixed international environment
- Proven experience delivering outcomes across all aspects of the Product Development Lifecycle
- Consumer-first orientation: you think about products from the end users’ perspective and have knowledge of human-centered design principles and experimentation methods
- Experience with analytics tools and data-driven decision-making
- Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with brand and regional stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills especially in leading through influence and being able to develop credibility within the organization
- Experience in analytics and consumer behavior tracking, able to evaluate information in different ways and from different angles to inform decisions
- Effective verbal and written communicator and able to tailor message based on audience
*Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
