Position Summary

This program is an 11-week full-time opportunity that provides real work experience with a team in your business area. You will be aligned to projects to lead or contribute to while also participating in networking, development, and career exploration activities. Our Corporate Interns can apply for future full-time roles during the program and have an increased likelihood to receive an offer for a post-graduation role.

The summer internship program is from May 28 – August 8, 2025.

CVS Health follows a 3 day in office (generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) hybrid work model providing office-based colleagues the ability to flex between working in the office and working from home based on the work you need to accomplish. The other 2 days each week will be working remotely from home, office, or another location of your choice.

Our office locations for this role are Hartford, CT, Scottsdale, AZ, or Woonsocket, RI. A housing stipend may be provided, based on eligibility, and interns will be given the opportunity to connect with each other prior to the start of the program to coordinate housing if desired. The hourly rate is $23.00 per hour, with 40 hours per week, July 4th off (company holiday), and two days of paid leave. Please disregard the range listed below.

What you will do

As a Software Engineer within the Pharmacy Services Technology Member Experience team, you will be responsible for building and delivering software that enhances customer experiences. You will participate in all phases of software engineering, from requirements analysis to deployment, while following agile software development methodologies. Collaboration is essential, as you will work with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet the needs of the business.

As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing components of the software architecture in collaboration with the team
• Deploying and maintaining large-scale software in production to ensure operational excellence
• Writing and executing unit tests, conducting code reviews, and troubleshooting issues to ensure system reliability

Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role. This includes participation in Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and F-1 Visa programs.

Required Qualifications

• Meet Education Requirements (see Education section) • Collaborative team player, efficient in working with others
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming/design, algorithms, data structures, and their practical implementation
• Strong grasp of CS fundamentals and their application in coding

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership experience (e.g., student organizations, sports, or work-related projects) • Experience leading a project at school or work • Internship or work experience in a related field • Strong communication skills (written & verbal) • An interest in obtaining full-time position within CVS Health upon graduation • Basic understanding and experience in Java, JavaScript and associated frameworks
• Working knowledge of HTML and web technologies
• General knowledge of front end and back end languages
• Coursework in SQL and relational database concepts
• Strong communicator, able to convey complex ideas through writing, using diagrams and verbally
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to putting quality first and delivering quality solutions
• Be a self-starter and possess a strong sense of self-motivation
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies

Education

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and August 2026

• Preferred majors include Computer Science, Computer Engineering preferred
