Provide Stat and routine errand services to Blood Bank, Pharmacy, Central Supply and Sterile Processing. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or equivalent. * 6 months to one year experience as a transporter Good interpersonal and communication skills * Knowledge of operating departmental equipment * Excellent Customer Service skills * Skills with various Age groups. * Ability to read and write English. * CPR Certification within 6 months of employment. * Ability to work weekends, holidays and different shifts to accommodate patient need. * Lifts 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly. * Ability to maneuver and operate transport equipment. * Works with infectious specimens and patients. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis. Accountabilities: * Transports patients throughout the medical center either by assisting ambulatory patients by wheelchair, cart, or bed. * Observe patients condition and report any change to the proper personnel immediately * Perform other duties as assigned. * Make Routine Rounds of Medical Center for carts and wheelchairs. (there is no centralized storage for transport equipment) * Perform Routine Rounds throughout the Hospital, picking up requisitions, specimens, and patient discharge instructions. * Performs duties with awareness of Patient Safety, comfort, and privacy always.
