Physical Therapy Aide, OP Scranton Rehab Hospital (Limited Term)
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the overall supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Physical Therapy, the Physical Therapy Aide gives assistance in treatment, patient care, and general departmental functions not requiring formalized training of Physical Therapy. Each PT Aide is assigned to a particular team within the Physical Therapy Department.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
No experience required.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
CPR certification is required and must be maintained.
Excellent communication skills required for effective communication with management, staff, patients, and visitors.
Valid PA driver's license required for travel to PT Clinics as needed.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care appropriate to the age specific need and culture of the patient served.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Medium Work: duties require exerting 25 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift), and/or 10-25lbs. of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or greater than negligible amount up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects.
Position involves occasional (up to 25% of shift) pushing (up to 100 lbs) on a 28 ramp.
Position involves bending, reaching, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) throughout shift.
Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.
Must be able to travel to various PT Clinics as needed.
ACCIDENT OR HEALTH HAZARDS:
Occasional exposure to blood and body substances.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in well-lit office, gym, and patient care areas.
