    This position reports to the Senior Director of Healthcare Quality Strategy within the Strategic Customer Group. The Associate Director will be responsible for support of J&J Oncology products, advising on and carrying out a departmental vision for the development of the quality strategy in partnership with Health Policy and Advocacy; Strategic Account Management; Value, Access, & Pricing; Channel Strategy & Marketing; Oncology Brand Marketing; Oncology Medical Affairs; Scientific Affairs; Global Commercial Strategy; Commercial Insights & Strategy; and J&J Government Affairs & Policy teams.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Initial heavy focus on advancing an oncology clinical pathways strategy for multiple myeloma by developing and implementing the commercial strategy, coordinating with internal teams such as medical affairs, medical excellence, and field value and evidence to execute external stakeholder engagement.

    • Serve as a trusted healthcare quality expert who empowers the organization by understanding and facilitating use of key U.S. quality measure and payment model insights to inform strategic decision making for marketed and pipeline products. The position will be highly focused on advancing strategies related to:

    • Oncology clinical pathways

    • Enhancing Oncology Model and other value-based models

    • Precision medicine quality strategies

    • Provide support of J&J Oncology product quality-based assessment, using product specific attributes and the workings of the health care ecosystem to provide and direct a vision for the development of the therapeutic area quality strategy.

    • Facilitate in-depth, focused, reliable U.S. quality intelligence and analyses, encompassing U.S. health care policy and clinical area changing landscape.

    • Assess scientific and U.S. healthcare policy, quality information, and future trends for our business partners to inform J&J product strategy.

    • Ensure that the quality plan is aligned with the needs of the changing marketplace, goals and objectives of key stakeholders and the franchise strategic plans and differentiates J&J in the marketplace.

    • Work in close collaboration with Healthcare Quality Strategy team members, both within and outside of the specific therapeutic area, will be key for success.

    • Contribute to existing strategies and support new strategic direction and insight within the therapeutic area.

    • Support proactive engagement of external stakeholders to advance access strategies within the therapeutic area in partnership with Health Policy & Advocacy, Strategic Account Management, Scientific Affairs, and J&J Government Affairs & Policy teams.

    • Serve as an expert resource to all internal partners on the evolving delivery and payment models in the therapeutic area. This will include representing J&J at external meetings and conferences.

    • Effectively collaborate with Health Policy & Advocacy to enhance strategic relationships with external stakeholders to uncover compliant therapeutic area(s) focused value-based care initiatives centered on achieving the Quintuple Aim and National Quality Priorities.

    Qualifications:

    • Five or more years of healthcare industry experience is required.

    • Bachelor’s degree required. Medical, pharmacy, nursing degree, a Master’s, PhD or MBA is preferred.

    • Deep familiarity of multiple myeloma regimens and pathway positioning preferred, including strong working knowledge of J&J oncology and competitor oncology products and regimens.

    • Familiarity with oncology provider and payor landscape is preferred.

    • Understanding of money flow in oncology drug reimbursement models is preferred.

    • Prior sales or marketing experience is preferred.

    • The ability to understand, analyze, interpret, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from a variety of sources is required.

    • The ability to lead, influence, and negotiate with others (externally and internally) with or without direct authority is required.

    • The ability to understand the expectations, future needs, and motivations of external and internal stakeholders and experience operating in a matrixed environment is required.

    • Demonstrated strong public speaking and communications skills, as well as the ability to navigate ambiguity and develop innovative approaches to complex problems are required.

    • Working knowledge of business implications of CMS payment policies and related quality measurement, Medicare C/D Stars, CCSQ programs, CMMI models, HEDIS measures, National Patient Safety Goals, CQMC Core Sets, Quintuple Aim and National Quality Priorities is preferred.

    • Oncology experience, clinical experience, and understanding models in quality reporting and performance improvement is strongly preferred.

    • A solid understanding of and experience in health system processes related to clinical standardization of care including pharmacy and therapeutics committees, value analysis committees, use of clinical pathways and clinical decision support is preferred.

    • Collaboration within and across teams to proactively foster relationships with key executives, economic and clinical decision makers, as well as internal company stakeholders is required.

    • The ability to build strong business acumen to represent the entire business value-proposition from an oncology clinical quality perspective is required.

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    137,000.00 - 235,750.00

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
