We are searching for the best talent for Associate Scientist, Cell Banking to be in Malvern, PA.
Purpose:
The role of Associate Scientist, Cell Banking will be to perform cell bank production for bio-analytical testing. This role is within the Cell Banking group in Malvern PA. The candidate’s primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to the production, testing, inventory, and supply of Master, Working, and Development Cell Banks for analytical testing for J&J biopharmaceutical and cell therapy products.
You will be responsible for:
• Supporting the Cell banking organization by producing cell banks to be used for analytical testing.
• Performing production, testing, and release of analytical cell banks and ensures the timely supply to customers.
• Working as part of a team as well as contributing individually to meet project timeline and objectives.
• Participating in cell culture and cryopreservation of cells using aseptic techniques under GMP-Compliant conditions.
• Performing all activities per established procedures and protocols
• Collaborating with internal and external customers to ship cell banks and supply critical information as per their requirements.
• Collaborating cross-functionally to represent Cell Banking department.
• Authoring, reviewing, and approving technical documents, SOPs, and batch records.
• Completing regulatory and job training requirements; Makes a positive contribution to the organization, seeks opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to think and work independently with moderate supervision.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry or other relevant scientific field with at least 4-8 years OR Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry or other relevant scientific field with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience is required.
Experience:
Required:
Cell culture and aseptic technique experience is required.
Accurate data reporting for performed procedures and processes.
Communicate project results, findings and data to management in a clear and timely fashion.
Occasional weekend work may be required
Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.
Preferred:
Knowledge and hands-on experience in cell banking and cell line testing is preferred.
GMP experience is preferred.
Experience maintaining writing records of work in form of (electronic) notebooks, procedural documents, protocols and technical reports is preferred.
Experience in maintaining team-based collaboration is preferred.
