    We are searching for the best talent for Associate Scientist to be in Cincinnati, OH.

    Purpose:

    • Supports product evaluations and research involving animate, inanimate, and cadaveric models.
    • Performs research which supports development of products or procedures in minimally invasive surgery.
    • Coordinates appropriate and accurate documentation of laboratory activities to ensure study integrity.
    • Ensures the highest standards of biomedical research and development are upheld and carried out by meeting the standards of United States Department of Agriculture, Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care, J&J Animal Use Policies and Good Laboratory Practice guidelines

    You will be responsible for:

    • Preclinical Internal Study Execution
      • Will function as a Study Coordinator in support of a Study Director.
      • As Study Coordinator,
        • Is responsible collaborating on Protocol and IACUC Proposal development and approval.
        • Is accountable for managing the logistics for lab execution. Such as, lab requests, animal requests, test article management, blood collection, document preparation, and study documentation preparation for archival.
        • Is responsible for investigating and documenting study deviations and non-conformances for Study Director assessment.
        • Is responsible for in life data collection and study execution oversight during surgical procedures.
        • Is responsible collaborating with the Study Director on the Summary Report development and approval.
        • Facilitate support for the conduct, monitoring and reporting, of preclinical studies (Service, Evaluations, and Protocol, and GLP Protocol) in Preclinical Research facilities via the coordination of communications, documentation, and test/control article logistics.
        • Serves as the single point of contact with the Study Director to communicate timelines, issues, and milestones regarding study conduct.
    • May fulfill role as Study Director for Service and Evaluation studies.
    • As Study Director,
    • Is accountable and responsible for Evaluation and IACUC Proposal development and approval.
    • Is accountable for procedural data collection, verification, and evaluation.
    • Is accountable for the quality and compliance of the assigned studies.
    • Is accountable and responsible for the Summary Report development and approval.
    • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
    • For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
    • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
    • Performs other duties assigned as needed

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Associate Degree in biomedical sciences in biological sciences is required.
    • Bachelors degree or working towards getting that degree in applicable field is desired.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience for associate degree / or equivalent candidates
    • Minimum 3 years of experience for bachelor’s degree candidates
    • Technical knowledge of medical device technologies in several platforms is required.
    • Knowledge of the requirements of in vivo preclinical study conduct is required.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS *

    • Expected level of competence and knowledge will vary based on tenure in the position and services being provided.
    • Knowledge of animal and human anatomy and physiology.
    • Analytical problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work as a team member, as well as early team leadership skills.
    • Excellent communication skills – written/oral/listening.
    • Working with limited supervision, as well as comfort with closer guidance.
    • Independent decision-making skills as appropriate
    • Ability to clearly document and communicate plans and results.
    • Partner in the development of tactics to successfully complete programs/projects/studies.
    • Influencing and negotiating skills.
    • Conceptualize issues and represent organizational needs accordingly.
    • Successfully initiating and completing Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee paperwork (i.e. animal requests, etc.) and closure of study files in a timely manner as needed.
    • Able to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
    • Able to articulate scientific basis for decisions to project team partners.
    • Demonstrates ability to engage and develop relationships with project leaders to facilitate study execution is required.
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and organize multiple studies is required.
    • Knowledge of regulations regarding medical device development and the utilization of live animals
