Job Description
FT- 10 hour shifts, 9a-7:30p, every other weekend, every other holiday
** General Summary**
Under direct supervision of professional licensed staff, performs delegated care functions to patients with diverse psychiatric/mental health and substance abuse disorders. The Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) engages in therapeutic activities and interactions with patients while following the established unit and hospital policies to ensure appropriate care delivery and provide a safe and recuperative milieu environment. __
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. 1. 2. Maintains milieu management through therapeutic psychiatric interventions as outlined by the treatment plan. Interventions contributes to patient emotional, intellectual, and developmental growth.
1. 8. Documents patient observations in accordance with hospital standards in formats such as checklists, flow sheets, or narratives.
Qualifications
** Education and Experience**
Minimum of an Associates degree in social science or education required, Bachelors degree preferred.
Previous experience in mental health or social services preferred.
CPR certification is required.

** Patient Safety**
Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department or unit patient safety initiatives.
